Winners Weekend: The 2009 SA Blog Awards

I’ve have been nursing a massive hangover resulting from the drinks party held at our place last night. It’s the marching band in my head all traded their musical instruments in for flippin’ jack hammers. Those uncouth bastards. But I digress.

The winners of the 2009 SA Blog Awards were announced last night and posted on the website this morning and in case you missed it here are the results:

    Best design blog that uses a freely available template for blogger, wtf, did anyone actually check to see if it had a unique design or a template?

      Victor, the award was for “Blogs about design or that have a great blog design.” Perhaps it made it into the finalists round due to the content being about design and not because of the blog design. Maybe it was because of both, I don’t know.

      In any case, the awards are like a popularity contest, and reader votes usually seal the deal Wink

    I too was very disapointed in the winner for best design blog.
    But Probably only cos I was in the running and loss to a very bland attempt at design, guess thats what happens when it comes down to reader votes, the older the blog the more likely it is to win!

      TheGiven, there’s an old saying “one man’s meat is another man’s poison”. I think in this case what you think is “bland” might be considered “minimalist” to someone else. Better luck next time though.
