When the scientists over at the Cornell Creative Machines Laboratory aren’t in the process of making Skynet a possibility, they’re having a bit of fun.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>Some researchers wondered what would happen if Cleverbot, their AI program designed to have conversations with humans, had a talk with another Cleverbot. They set up two Cleverbots in a chat environment and watched as the conversation between an Asian female and a British male starts with the usual pleasantries and then descends into name-calling and hostility. It’s oddly entertaining.

Angry Birds as Superheroes!

The Internet is a veritable treasure chest of superhero mashups. We’ve seen them re-imagined as dinosaurs, felines, emotional wrecks, and even with their genders reversed. And now it seems they’ve been crossed with birds, angry ones at that.

Springfield Punx reader Ryan has been hard at work dressing up Angry Birds as if they were superheroes from the Marvel and DC comic books. As tired as you may be of Rovio’s cash ~~cow~~ fowl, there is no denying that these angry heroes are the teensiest bit cute. Watch This: Adult Swim’s “Black Dynamite” Pilot Episode

OMG. This is hilarious. And rude. And violent. And brilliant. So, altogether nothing unusual when the name Black Dynamite is mentioned.

In this pilot episode for Adult Swim’s animated series, Black Dynamite, the Kung Fu-knowing, fried chicken-eating, lady-loving former CIA agent is trying to extract some information when he is asked to take on a more serious mission. It seems that Black Dynamite’s childhood mentor That Frog Kurtis has turned from inspirational puppet TV educator to a life of crime. Kurtis not only controls the sleaze in Puppet Street but has used the power of television to convince all the kids who watch his show to do his evil bidding. It is now up to up to Black Dynamite and his crew to beat the stuffing out of the evil pimp-ass frog. See how it goes down below [NSFW].

The animated series features the voice talents of Michael Jai White as Black Dynamite, Byron Minns (Bullhorn), Tommy Davidson (Cream Corn), and Kym Whitley (Honeybee). You’ll recognize those names from the 2009 live action film. The series is set to premiere on Adult Swim some time this year.

Kiwi Girls at the Bottom of Ass-Cam Sting

Two girls from the country of New Zealand decided to run an experiment where they attached a tiny camera to their rear-ends and took a walk though the sunny streets of Los Angeles. The centre of silly studies (not real name) claims the results as obvious – both sexes had a good ogle at the swaying derrieres, and even Jesus (from West Hollywood) stole a quick glance. The girls, Reanin Johannink and Jessie Gurunathan, posted their video on YouTube and it has racked up over five million hits since it debuted a week ago. 1950s Housewife on Acid

Do you remember Acid Trip, a US experiment in the early 50s where an artist was given a dose of LSD and asked to draw a subject. The artist goes from being focussed on the task at hand to trying to climb into the activity box that contains his crayons, to moving about the confines of this room for hours on end. His reaction to the substance is seen in the nine drawings he produced. If you missed them, see here.

In this related TV program, also from the 1950s, a housewife of stable mind volunteered to ingest the same drug the artist did, LSD-25 (lysergic acid diethylamide). After the initial interview, the voice-over explains the dosage, and we fast-forward to three hours later. The woman experiences a moment of clarity, saying she has never yet seen or felt a thing of such infinite beauty. Take a look at the archival footage below.

There is something to be said about wearing your heart on your sleeve and your preferred social network on your feet. Digital artist Gerry McKay wondered what would happen if sports apparel maker Adidas got into bed with two of the most popular social networks. He then illustrated the love children as sneakers, more specifically limited edition shelltoes based on the Adidas Superstar that was first released in 1969.

5 Unordinary Superpowers I Wish I Had

Invincibility, invisibility, super strength, laser shooting eyes, adamantium skeletons… all so passé, so ordinary, why would I want one of these? I tend to think outside of the box, outside of Stan Lee’s imaginings, which is why when I think of having a super power I leave the usual suspects out of it. One day with the help of science, radiation, the sun’s rays, a meteor shower or the bite of a genetically manipulated bug I hope to have one of these unordinary superpowers. Find out what they are after the jump.

1. The power to make someone either poo themselves or have an orgasm involuntarily.

Just imagine the possibilities, you could accuse someone of being full of shit and then prove it, it would be a superpower in politics and debate. And of course you would be a hit with the ladies.

2. Save game function for life

Want to try a few pick-up lines? No problem. Retry the day with less suck? Win the lottery? Say exactly the right thing at the right time. Thought of the perfect comeback… come back to it. The applications are indeed endless. Groundhog day but all the time, awesome.

3. Music soundtrack to my life.

Besides removing the need for any technological gadgetry like an ipod, having a soundtrack would be useful. Imagine something scary is about to happen, a car is about to mount the pavement you are standing on. Never fear, your soundtrack would have warned you by now. Getting in the mood for some love, cue Barry White. Besides being useful, it would be totally awesome, Macross could have ‘Footloose’ playing on repeat.

4. An aura of hairspray removal.

Ever noticed how you can’t avoid douche bags. No matter where you are, who you are with or what you are doing. You may be in the middle of the Kalahari desert camping with friends and suddenly in a haze of dust a 4×4 will appear pulling two quad bikes and out will step two douches with popped collars and shitty music blaring… But with anti-hairspray aura if they came within a set distance of you, their hair would fall into disarray and their day would most certainly be ruined.

5. The ability to make my bag or pockets, bags of holding.

There’s never enough space to carry your stuff around. If life was an rpg there would be bags of holding to help you carry around all your loot right… Well that’s what I want. Of course it needs to be like Rincewinds luggage, bottomless and weightless.

Did you Mean Battlesheep?

Do you remember a funny old ad for Berlitz where a hapless German coast guard station received a mayday message from a sinking boat? If not, I sink you will like it – refresh your memory here. I was reminded of that when I saw a set of recent ads for Google.

I’m quite used to seeing Google’s online ads (unless you’re a happy subscriber to Adblock Plus) but not any ads for the company itself, much less in print. An agency in Istanbul Turkey created a set of mildy amusing print ads that play on Google’s “Did you mean” search feature.

The funniest of these ads features a shaggy sheep plodding through a warzone, with the tagline “Did you mean? battleship”. Maybe this is some sort of Turkish-only thing because when I searched for battlesheep Google didn’t bother to suggest an alternative spelling, instead it returned 90,000+ results. Clearly the Internet finds the idea of weaponizing sheep to be so very awesome.

Ninjas Can’t Catch You If…

It’s recently come to light that some ninjas are able to spew forth a wave of deadly bubbles from their hoohoos. While that’s pretty awesome, ninjas aren’t necessarily perfect. Like everyone else, they are fallible to some degree, as shown in a 2008 episode of the web comic The Adventures of Dr. McNinja where the good doctor’s father set himself on fire so that the ninjas wouldn’t attack him. That practical idea was printed onto a t-shirt and then picked up by 4chan’s random board, /b/. And a fun little meme was born.

We “Bubble” Some Local Models

I don’t know much about the doctrines of Mormonism but the Internet revealed that a Mormon on a bodybuilding forum wasn’t too happy that the terms and conditions of his religion prohibited the viewing of naked bodies. In his earnest desire to see nudity that wasn’t there, this horny lad said he created a radical technique called bubbling. In all likelihood, it originated from the bowels of the Internet, 4chan, however I’m not going to investigate further – every time I go there, I see something I really wish I hadn’t…

Bubbling involves loading a photo of one or more bikini-clad ladies in a graphics editor and applying a set of circular cutouts in strategic locations. This gives the illusion that said ladies are completely naked. The young Mormon’s results were quite convincing so we thought we’d give it a go too. Armed with a tutorial (see here), we set about bubbling, not just anyone mind you, but some home-grown models. Have a look at our creations after the jump.

Meet Leonardo DiHapprio

Earlier in June, a photo of a sad Keanu Reeves perched on a park bench caught the attention of Reddit users. An outpouring of love for the sullen actor resulted in hundreds of photoshopped images flooding the Internet. And just when people thought the Sad Keanu meme had died, he popped up in a collage that quite frankly is the only one we don’t think needs more cowbell.

And in that image of the Meme Team, you may have noticed a rather jolly Leonardo DiCaprio in the background. Originally taken during the filming of Inception, a now photoshopped Leo Strut (or Leonardo DiHapprio) is now doing the rounds with Leo joyfully walking past some terribly awkward situations. A Operatic Montage of Rap Video Clichés

We’ve seen all manner of Tetris mods from xkcd’s Tetris Hell to an FPS clone to a suitably mean-spirited version. And we never get tired of playing them. Tetris fan Maurice from Cologne, Germany has created a mod of the popular puzzle game that keeps the nostalgic graphics and sounds but introduces real-world physics. Unlike the original game, in Not Tetris the completed lines don’t get cleared and your end goal is to stack as many pieces onto top of each other as you can.

The Periodic Table of Swearing

Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev is probably rolling in his grave. There is a periodic table for all manner of things these days – beer, meat, dessert, typefaces, video game characters. You can now add swearing to the ever-growing list.

The people over at Modern Toss in jolly Blighty have created a Periodic Table of Swearing filled with colourful phrases which you may not have heard of. It’s not anywhere near as obnoxious as Roger’s Profanisaurus but if you’re in need of some education, check it out after the jump. It’s NSFW.
