Produced by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Day Watch, Night Watch), Чёрная Молния tells of a Moscow University student who wants to impress a girl but is too poor to afford a fancy car. His luck turns unexpectedly when he is gifted with a rusty old Volga that has a very special ability. Have a look at the trailer below – oddly enough the subtitles seem to show up only when you view the trailer in full-screen mode or watch it directly on YouTube.
Described as “the Russian response to Transformers and Batman,” Black Lightning is directed Alexandr Voitinsky and will appear in Russian theaters on December 31st, 2009.
Update (December 8th): The second trailer is out. There are no subtitles so please feel free to make the dialog up as you go along.
