We Review: Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect Andromeda is, without being an out-and-out reboot, essentially a side-reboot of the Mass Effect series. The core series, starring everyone’s favourite Commander, ended on a very definite note with Mass Effect 3, and to be able to get back into the Mass Effect universe, EA has taken us to a whole new galaxy with a new cast and crew to play with. Let’s hit up the Andromeda galaxy for a review of this title.

We Review: Star Wars: Battlefront

Ahead of the new Star Wars film coming up, we have Star Wars: Battlefront, the hotly-anticipated multiplayer phenomenon that’s been going since 2004. And this is, surprisingly, not another annual game like so many others, and this iteration is only its third entry in the series. This is the review you were looking for.

We Review: Need for Speed

Need for Speed first appeared 21 years ago back in 1994 for DOS and the first generation Playstation (and two other consoles, for those information purists). The game did well enough to warrant a sequel in 1997, and there has since been a new Need for Speed game almost every single year after that. Sometimes we even got two, lucky us! Now in its 22nd iteration, the newest game in the series, titled simply Need for Speed, makes its debut on the current generation of consoles. I gear up, rev my engines, and go full throttle as I race and drift my way through this review to see what it’s about.

The Winner of our Mass Effect Competition is….

What a competition! I’ve not quite seen such a scramble for a prize since…well…since ever. We had millions and squillions and willions of entrants. Maybe even jillions! We had more entrants than there are people on the planet, which leads us to suspect that even alien races were entering. Alas, there can be only one dream! One soul! One prize! One goal! One golden glance of…no, wait. That’s Queen.

So, who is going to soon discover that no matter what scars they bear, whatever uniform they wear, they could fight like a Krogan, run like a leopard, they’ll never be better than Commander Shepard? Find out after the jump.

We Review: Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 is the conclusion to the brilliant sci-fi RPG series detailing Commander Shepard’s efforts to save the galaxy from total destruction. Or at least partial destruction—you can never trust a bad guy to do this sort of thing right. You’ve probably already heard and read many dissenting opinions about the game, so I imagine you’re asking why you should read mine. Because I’m entertaining, that’s why. Also, I have some good, common-person common-sense opinions. So read on.

We Review: Grand Slam Tennis 2

EA is well known for the sports games it produces, most notably the FIFA branded soccer games (the latest of which, FIFA 12, is still one of the best-selling soccer games around). I’m not a sports nut, however, so it was with a little bit of trepidation that I put EA’s Grand Slam Tennis 2 into the drive tray of my console and fired it up. Find out in this review what surprises, if any, this game had in store for me.
