The Lion King Rises

This is brilliant! YouTube user moviemaestroten took the audio track from the latest trailer to Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises and skillfully matched it to scenes from the 1994 animated adventure, The Lion King. The results are amusing to say the least, and Scar makes for a wondefully incomprehensible villain. Check out The Lion King Rises.

The Dark Knight Rises releases on July 27th in South Africa. The Lion King, now 18 years old, was re-released in 3D in September 2011, and earned a whopping USD 30.2 million in its opening weekend!

Gordon Ramsay on how to Treat a Lady

First it was Nigella Lawson being all tarty in the kitchen, and now it’s the turn of celebrity chef and potty mouth Gordon Ramsay to get the 80gumdrops treatment.

The industrious YouTube user creatively edited clips from one of Ramsay’s cooking shows to make Gordon Talks Dirty, where the chef talks about the intricacies of making love to the ladies. Ramsay provides many tips, including having a go with three fingers, shocker!

Nigella Talks Dirty

Oh my, this so scrumptiously rude! YouTube user 80gumdrops edited various clips from Nigella Lawson’s 2006 television series, Nigella Feasts, into a rather decadent monologue where the queen of tarts tells us some of her culinary fantasies. Be warned, there is some heady innuendo in the mix here, so it’s possibly NSFW.

Movie Line Rhymes

Jordan Laws and the people over at Screen Werks stitched together clips from 48 popular movies to create a wonderful musical mashup. The likes of Darth Vader, Napoleon Dynamite, James Bond, and Audrey II all get together to drop some mad rhymes.

As good as it is, the drum beat is a little too loud and I mentioned on Google+ that it could have done with a line or two from Pulp Fiction. Jules is a natural poet:

My name’s Pitt. And your ass ain’t talkin’ your way out of this shit.

Or perhaps from Pulp Fiction and Snatch:

Brick Top: In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary… come again?
The Wolf: That’s thirty minutes away. I’ll be there in ten.

Epic “Game of Thrones” Cover Mashup

Fans of HBO’s Game of Thrones will have to wait until April 2012 to return to the Seven Kingdoms. To stave off the withdrawal symptoms, several people have taken to making creative covers of the series’ opening theme song composed by Ramin Djawadi.

You may remember Roger Lima as he banged out a rock cover on his guitars and drum kit. You may also recall Jason Yang, who used an acoustic and electric violin, and layered the 13 different tracks to create the most delightful cover I’ve heard. These two versions are wonderful on their own but in his mashup, Youtube user paolody wanted to find out what it would sound like if Lima and Yang collaborated on a truly epic Game of Thrones cover. Are the results doubly awesome? Find out below.

Hilarious GTA IV Mashup!

If you’ve surfed the Internet, you may have unsuspecting clicked a link that takes you to Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”. You may have even been tricked with the Russian rickroll or seen the fantastic mashup, Never Gonna Give Your Teen Spirit Up.

Rockrolling is an obsession for some people, and YouTube user YeardlyDiamond1 found that he was always on the receiving end of the bait-and-switch. Intense hatred for the song eventually turned to love, and as a labour of love, he has created a very special music video for Astley’s famous tune. Liberty City plays host to an 80s party and the dancing talents of GTA IV’s Niko Bellic, Johnny Boy, and Double L take centre stage.
